The Northern Miner – Altan CEO gets creative to finance greenfield exploration
... With permitting already in place, drilling at North Star is to begin by mid-year. The companies will work together to define drill targets in the intervening period, with Altan Nevada pitching in some technical expertise and Teck acting as operator...
Altan Nevada Announce North Star Gold Project, Carlin Trend, Nevada Earn-in Option with Teck Resources Limited
Teck, Canada’s largest diversified resources company to further explore the Company’s North Star Gold Project situated on the Carlin Trend, northern Nevada , whereby Teck has the option to earn up to an undivided 70% interest in the North Star Property and participate as joint venturers by incurring $5,000,000 in expenditure.
Altan Nevada Announces up to 1.06 g/t Gold from Trenching at North Star Project, Carlin Trend, Nevada
Trenching at North Star revealed gold values up to six times higher than any previous sampling on the project. The strong geochemistry encountered justifies our belief that a Carlin-type system is present on the project. Drilling is required to test these upgraded targets, as a significant zone of gold mineralization may exist at relatively shallow depths
The Star Lake Project is an early stage conceptual exploration target for a district scale extension to the Carlin Gold Trend located in northern Nevada. It consists of 670 contiguous unpatented mining claims located in Northwestern Elko County and Northeastern Humboldt County, 90 air miles northwest of the town of Elko, Nevada.
North Star is an under-explored gold project, at the northern extent of Paleozoic rock exposures along the Carlin Trend, located 55 km north-northwest of Goldstrike in Elko County, northern Nevada.
In December 2013 Altan Nevada signed an agreement with a wholly owned subsidiary of Teck Resources Limited, to further explore the project whereby Teck has the option to earn up to an undivided 70% interest and participate as joint venturers by incurring $5,000,000 in expenditure.
Black Top is located in southern Nevada in the productive Walker Lane mineral belt. The 8.3 square kilometer project is part of an extensive, zoned low-sulfidation epithermal system. Surface exploration and first pass drilling by Altan Nevada has defined a very large target similar to the 18 M oz Au Round Mountain deposit located approximately 145 kilometers to the northwest.
The newly-staked Yellow Cone project is a large volcano-plutonic hosted gold-silver-copper system that has seen very little modern exploration. It consists of 280 unpatented mining claims and covers an area of approximately 5600 acres or 23 km2.
Mineralized structures, disseminated sulfides, and alteration assemblages at the Montelle project are comparable to those found in orogenic or intrusion-related gold systems. The coincidence of the strongest alteration with disseminated oxidized sulfides and mineralized shear structures present along the margins of strong magnetic lows indicates significant potential for sizable ore bodies within intensely altered zones beneath the alluvial cover.
Marble Station is an underexplored intrusion-related gold-copper vein system hosted in prospective Yerington-stage granodiorite. There is no evidence of modern, system scale exploration and thus the widespread occurrence of robust gold and copper values suggests that additional low cost exploration can delineate high quality drill targets.
Venus is located in west-central Nevada in Mason Valley just east-southeast of the community of Yerington in the historic Yerington copper district. It consists of 111 unpatented mining claims. The project is directly adjacent to the southern boundary of Nevada Copper’s advanced Pumpkin Hollow Cu-Fe-Ag-Au project which contains 5.6 million short tons of copper in reserves and resources.
